Nature Forever Society launched the first Sparrow Award on March 20, 2011, to honour the unsung environment heroes who work silently to make a difference to the environment. Four awards have been conferred on people from diverse fields and backgrounds.

Our sentiments behind the awards

We have often noticed that while the best known conservationists consistently receive accolades for their good work, there are many others who make steady efforts to save the environment. Our sentiment behind launching the Sparrow Awards is to honour such people and applaud their quiet and unsung contribution. This is the criterion behind the decision to initiate the Sparrow Awards.

In the coming years, we aspire to make the Sparrow Awards one of the most prestigious awards one could hold, tough to attain and inspirational to retain.
