Cornerstone & NFS Free Nest Box Distribution Drive in Pune and Bangalore
From 16th March 2025 to 20th March 2025, Cornerstone, in collaboration with the Nature Forever Society (NFS), organized a Free Nest Box Distribution Drive in Pune and Bangalore on the eve of World Sparrow Day. This impactful initiative aimed to create safe nesting habitats for house sparrows and other small birds that are struggling to survive in rapidly urbanizing cities.
Over 750 nest boxes and 300 bird feeders were distributed to communities, spreading awareness about bird conservation and encouraging citizens to play an active role in protecting biodiversity.

Why Nest Boxes Matter
House sparrows once thrived in Indian cities but have seen a sharp decline due to habitat loss, pollution, and lack of safe nesting sites. Nest boxes and bird feeders are simple, effective tools to bring these birds back into our neighborhoods.
Through such initiatives, NFS and its partners continue to make conservation accessible to everyone—turning ordinary citizens into champions of biodiversity.
